Managed Offices

Managed offices are setup in a ‘readymade’ fashion. The building is serviced by the landlord, with all cleaning, heating, lighting and office furniture included in the office rent. Managed offices range from single person workstations to fifty plus office spaces. You usually pay one fixed price to rent office space, with extras added as they are used.

Managed office space can be extremely cost effective for small businesses, as you pay per person or per workstation, rather than by the square foot of office space. Basic running costs are usually included in the monthly rent, including water, electricity, heating and business rates.

If you are part of a larger business, then managed offices can still prove cost effective, as you are not tied into a long lease or rental agreement.

Before you sign on the dotted line for a managed office, make sure that you check the small print in your tenancy agreement.

Basic business requirements are sometimes considered extras, like internet access or telephone lines. These extra costs can add substantially to the overall rent, especially as you are likely to be restricted to one internet or telephone provider.

Managed offices can be a cost effective option startups and small businesses, or a larger company that can absorb the extra costs for short-term flexibility.
